An abbreviation is a short form of a word or phrase. Abbreviation is used to save time and space, to avoid the repetition of long words. It include the many possible variations. Some abbreviation are formed by omitting all but the first few letters of a word , this kinds of abbreviation end with a period. Example : Mar. for March and Int. for Interest
